How to check impact of a painting
Hi there awesome Dreams community!
I'm trying to make a useable water cannon on top of a firetruck to put out some fires. For the water stream I used a animated painting and made it stuck to a sculpture. The sculpture is movable through a advanced rotator. That setup works fine.
Now I struggle with checking whether the water painting hit the fire. I tried impact sensors and trigger zones but that didn't work so far.
Do you have an idea how to do that?
Thank you very much and have a nice weekend!

I've not tried it yet myself with a painting but try using the labels feature in the paintings tweak menu.
They work fine on sculptures for detecting collisions.
If that doesn't work I'd suggest emitting an invisible sculpt along the path of the water cannon and have a trigger zone in the fire to detect it. You could give the sculpt a tag or use labels. -
Hi CLOUD1985,
Thank you, your second suggestion worked! I made a short painting for the water stream and added a small invisible sculpture to make a group. Then I added a tag und made the whole thing being constantly by an emitter. The trigger zone can now detect the tag. -
Paintings aren't detected by anything but force appliers as far as I know.

Awesome, glad it's working for you
