Making candy stripes on sculpts
Hi there. I'm really stuck, and I can't seem to find an answer to this one anywhere. I'm trying to make candy-striped objects in Dreams, a bit like the stripey swirly candy in the top right hand corner of the attached image. I thought this would be relatively easy but I'm really struggling to even produce a simple striped object in sculpt mode. I've seen other Dreams that feature striped or checkerboard patterns on objects and wondered how this is achieved. None of the YouTube tutes I've found seem to hit the mark. Playse Halp!

For that peppermint candy, I would spray paint with the curve shape, which changes diameter based on the pressure of the R2 squeeze. Also, I would turn on the kaleidoscope effect, and set it to 8. That way all the stripes will match each other, and you'll only have to get that perfect stroke once (it's going to take several tries to get the thin to thick transition smooth).
You probably already know this, but surface snap is a huge help with spray painting. Just remember to turn it off afterwards, or it's going to cause some really strange imp behavior.
Also, the kaleidoscope may not be centered properly if you've moved your sculpt around after the initial shape placement. It's a simple shape, so you can probably start over again if you run into this, or you can try moving the sculpt back to the origin. -
Hmm good idea. Only just getting to grips with the curve shape, so might have a go at that. Sounds like spray painting is the only option unless I want to get into something a bit trickier (if only there was a way to curve-manipulate an oblong type shape!) - Cheers for the suggestion!
