How to play a special effect on a moving object

I have made a coin that flies at the character when in the trigger zone, on a timer it plays a sound effect,adds to a counter and is destroyed . I want a special effect to play when it hits the player. I have tried to emit the special effect from the coin before it is destroyed but it emits at the position the coin was in before it moved. No matter what angle I change the gizmo on the emitter it doesnt work. I just want an effect on my player's middle when the coin is destroyed. How do I do this?

  So I'm guessing there's a follower on some object? Put the emitter in that specific object. I'm guessing it's just not being moved by the follower.

  '@Supposer The emitter is in the coin. The follower gadget is in the coin. Are you proposing I put the emitter in the player? The player also moves about, wont I have the same problem?
