I see you used the clone in the properties. Delete all the grass but one. Open up the grass properties so you can turn off both duplicates setting.
    Leave the throb.

And then just clone the object using L1 + R2. And position the grass the way you like. Group a clump and make clones of that

But you can experiment. If you clone a few of the grass and then merge painting rather than group. You might be able to save some thermo. Because if you start cloning a single grass the gameplay thermo goes up because of the amount of objects in the scene.

but also animated paintstrokes will eat up some of the thermo. depending on what you plan to do. you may need to keep it small and not try to make it animated grass through the whole scene.

Better than just cloning the object, use the Duplicates tab in the Tweak menu for one painting - it’s saves some space, then you clone that tweaked painting and your should be fine.

Check out my collection: Community Popit, go to Thermo Friendly Goodie Bag and look in Foliage - there are two Grass creations that are good examples of what I’m talking about :)

'@pookachoo. i thnk they did do that.
i went in and remixed it. took out all but one paint stroke in their object.
but it was due to the first tab they were apply finishes to the object.
