How do I use the same mirror for two different shapes?

I use the mirror for a face with rough texture. Then I create a new sculpt using the mirror for eyeballs that are shiny. I can't use the mirror back on the face to line up the eyes.I can only mirror the eye which doesn't line up with the face mirror. And I can't use the face mirror for the eyes because then it turns the face shiny.

  You can’t use the mirror from the face sculpture in assembly but you can position one eye by hand then turn on and set the grid to be on the face and clone to the other side. It should line up correctly as the mirror line should be on the grid.
