trying to understand what damping is doing
trying to understand what damping is doing?? working on my car with advanced mover for forward, but back didn't work good so i used a normal mover for going back.. but when driving the car , it sometimes holding r2 or l2an drive in the sky, i also see damping whats that? im trying with impact sensor and force applier to get it down when it isn't registration any connection with the road... but sometimes it still can be driven in the sky..b.t.w starting with the car it is set on moving.. any info welcome and what does damping do???

Hi,
Dampening is how strong the mover resists any force applied against it different to its own speed setting.
So it will resist gravity, it will resist going faster than the movers speed. Etc.
So if the dampening is high it might end up flying as you've found out.
If you look on other page of mover tweaks you can dampen in certain axis' so in this case don't damp in Y, as that is up and down.

Tip: Hover over every single menu button you want to understand. They're not perfect, but if, say, you don't know what dampening does, hovering for a bit will reveal a tooltip telling you what it does. Same for the assembly menu. Not that your question isn't valid or anything, just a quicker method sometimes (unless it still doesn't help).

You might use a laser scope to check if you're in contact with the ground (hit detected output). Connect that to your mover's power inputs perhaps do disable when the car leaves the ground after a jump etc.
