Theoretically I should be able to clone a body part to make a piece of clothing, but how?
So for example, if I wanted to make a coat, I should (in theory) be able to clone the torso, sculpt it to make it look like a coat then simply attach it back onto the body without making one from scratch.
But that's not what's happening. When I attach the coat to the body, the upper body becomes stiff. If I make it movable and get rid of its connectors, it still restricts the body - so what gives? Can this be achieved and I'm missing something simple?

Are you scoping into the body part before placing the clothing over the arm or whatever? What do you mean by "the upper body becomes stiff"? Is that just the clothing, or the puppet, or both?

from a fresh biped;
* Scope in once (HOLD L1 + TAP X)
* Clone your body part (HOLD L1, GRAB WITH R2 AND MOVE)
* Now re-grab bit you just cloned (HOLD R2), while still holding R2, now scope into body part you want to group it with (HOLD L1 + TAP X)
*Now tweak the cloned bit (HOLD L1 + TAP SQUARE), and on physical properties page, turn off MOVEABLE

Do you expect the cloned body part to behave physically? Because you need to use paint for cloth sims.
