How Do I: Make good textures
How do I make a decent looking texture for a sculpt? Are there any tips to help or do you just need to have a mind for it? I have been trying to make bricks or wood planks for a while now and they always look like mostly smooth rectangles with some bad looking lines drawn in them aha.

One thing I have found d is painting the sculpture with shading and lighting in mind, and mid tones are your best friend

Have you done the painting tutorial on the coat tool? One trick not mentioned which in the context menu on the right hand side is volume brushes.

Ahh thanks I never even considered painting for texture, makes sense now im thinking about it.

I use the spray paint tool in sculpt mode. You'll probably want to go into edit shape to set the opacity and soft blend (falloff). Surface snap helps a lot here too.
Fleck options go a long way too. Don't know if you noticed but in the sculpt tweak menu on the 2nd tab you can have separate settings for the background than from the flecks themselves. This way you can have some higher contrast grain to the surface, and other effects. Impasto and ruffle are also super helpful.
@EvilKimau, what is the volume brush exactly? I couldn't figure that one out.
