How to move Imp grabbed object on Z axis, with camera

I have movement on the Z axis, but I can only move in (nearer the viewpoint) not out.

In my scene there’s a camera (constantly on) and an object that can be grabbed and moved by the Imp. While holding the object I can move my Imp side to side, and pull it toward the camera viewpoint with the L stick, but I can’t push back away/out.

I know the camera is causing the issue, but can’t figure out a work around. Tried changing the Imp scale and distance settings, no luck. Seems like I’m missing something obvious :p

I tried adding a Mover activated by a remote controller sensor, that doesn’t override whatever is happening.

  Yeah it'll be the maximum distance. While grabbing something that is beyond that distance you can only pull it towards you.

  Are you using the sticks option for imp movement in general, by the way?

  I’m using motion control, just noticed I had stick control over the pulling movement and assumed there’d be a way to push back as well.
