How can I get my dream not moderated

  • TAPgiles

What's happening is, we're in early access. Things that are flagged tend to be taken down quickly, because they don't have a lot of people to dedicate to ensuring these are all valid, because they're still working on the game itself. Also, they're still working out the kinks in these kinds of procedures, how best to handle different kinds of content and such; this is what early access is for.

After launch I'm sure these things will be a lot better, and there will be clearer procedures in place for appealing, and for checking before moderating content.

For now, I'd recommend tweeting at @media_molecule and see if there's something that can be done (please be respectful though).

Thanks for the tips! I will never be disrespectful to Mm. I am a huge fan of what they are providing us with.

Before being moderated I had 50+ likes in less than 24hours, 7 followers and only good feedback.

This is the project that got posted on YouTube a few hours before being removed.

Yeah, I saw this on Facebook and commented. Good modelling work and animation.

Regarding what may have prompted the report, she does seem to act a more sexually than in the film. Splitting her legs, showing off her legs, grabbing her boobs and such. That wasn't in the film if I remember correctly. I don't find it crosses the line myself, but that might be where this is coming from.

Hi there - I'm going to look into this for you with moderation. As TAP noted, we are still in EA and are working through the complexities around moderation, thanks for being patient with us! - MmAbbie

I personally don't feel it crosses a line, but on the subject of censorship (which will inevitably come up from time to time) I think it's important to note that Dreams is a multi-cultural platform. Most societies have wildly different views on such things. In one culture, such content would be considered fairly tame for primetime viewing, and in others it might be outright censored. It'll probably be a bit tricky for Mm to find a good balance. :)

That said, I hope you get your work back. I come from a 3D design background, and art censorship is no fun. I've been tempted to do some life sculpt studies in Dreams, but for anyone who's never been in a life art class drawing nude people, it would certainly appear as though a line has been crossed. So I'll play it safe. :)

    Thanks guys for your feedback.

The artistic comments I had about the scene are really useful and motivating.

Despite being disappointed I fully understand the comments about censorship and I apologise for the fuss.

Nothing but respect for the people behind Dreams and the community of creators that makes it alive before it's official birth.

'@cgCody I wonder if a solution to this could be banning the content only in some regions where it is deemed "offensive".

  • cgCody

'@olit123, I think on paper that sounds good, but in practice, I'm not so sure. Yes, this happens with other games/movies/tv, but those aren't part of a connected community. I think folks would be pretty upset over being censored, while other members of the community aren't.

Kinda reminds me of something I read recently about the 80's cartoon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and how it was changed to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in the UK. I guess "Ninja" gave off bad vibes for the English. :D

    Hey there, @Living_is_a_Art!

Thanks for being understanding in the comments! As others have noted, this will likely have been moderated due to the overly sexual nature of the animation/character model. As our age rating is PEGI 12, content in Dreams tends to be moderated with that in mind. We have put together some guidelines here to help clarify: https://docs.indreams.me/en/guide/sharing/moderation

If you aren’t aware, the creation isn't gone! It can be remixed and re-released if you want to bring it in line with the Dreams guidelines. If you don’t want to alter the creation, you can keep it published privately. I don’t have specifics from the moderation team here, but a suggestion would be to remove the nipples from the character model both in your intro sequence and the creation itself, or potentially replace animations such as the leg split at the start.

    Hope that helps!

Tom, Community Manager at Mm :)

    Thanks for the quick answer.

I actually had a look at the moderation rules before releasing and I believed it would not be moderated because I did not see my video as sexual content. Not more then Lara Croft or Japanese anime character that are very present in dreams in all kind of revealing sexy costumes.

This being said I would hate for my scene to put you guys into troubles so I understand the decision.

I will try to release a new version following your advice. My biggest concern is to end up being banned from dreams so I hope it will not happen if I re-release.

I do not intend to entertain the perves or turn dreams into a collection of penises like I heard in an interview of one of your developpers. =)

    I really appreciate the dialogue.

Dreams is a game changing game!
