Adjust GrabPoint of a Group (or an individual Edit/sculpt)
Currently adjusting the grabpoint of a group is only possible when it is imported as a sculpture or character, that's quite the workaround
https://youtu.be/ypx3lVRRMc8?t=344 which i would have never discovered by myself.
When and how is this available in edit mode ?
Or am i missing something ? Currently surface snapping will default to where you grab a group or edit with everything made in the scene, and the the grabpoint on anything imported. But no way to adjust either in-scene

Hey! That's my tutorial! ^^
You can set a grab point on elements only. I think I explained that around 4:42.
You cannot adjust these inside a scene; you'd need to go to the element itself and adjust it, then save, go back to the scene and update it. And for anything else, surface snap works as you explained; there's no way of telling it what point should be snapped apart from the point you grabbed it by.
Can I ask what kind of thing you're trying to do? Perhaps there's another way of doing it that may prove useful. -
Thanks very much ! really was trying to get to grips with how the interface behaves in general, and believe this was somewhere around wanting to have a more reliable experience when laying down and editing shapes while sculpting.
Or having things move offset without invisible parents or resorting to connectors.
And what a exquisite set of Pure Fun no nonsense tutorials you put up there ( if i get to spend more time on Dreams i seriously need to consider that paypal gesture or something ..which isn't linked-to in the description of the earlier videos btw. )
Everything just makes total sense.
If these are not officially endorsed and adopted..if it wasn't for you and less than a handful of people on youtube and remixable scenes ..and yes the text hints everywhere in the menu
I'm glad Dreams itself is in such a great, insanely solid state even without the curves updates etc.,
but the lack of fast straight forward or in scene interactive documentation makes it feel like hidden in plain sight.
I dont know how all those people do it ( it just starts making sense if you can afford to spend enough time with it)
did i say thanks ?
Thank You TAPgiles !! -
Haha! So glad I could help, my friend ^^
You can now find all my info, documentation, and donation links on TAPgiles.com. I'm not endorsed or sponsored officially in any way right now, so I'm kinda doing all this out of pocket for the time being. Hopefully things can pick up money-wise and I can keep doing this work for the foreseeable future! ;D
