Why is my imp miles away when I'm trying to sculpt or cut out onto an object.

I can't get right onto an object I'm trying to sculpt. My imp keeps going behind it, or miles away. What am I doing wrong?

  If your imp goes behind your sculpt use down on the left stick to pull the imp back towards the camera.
  
  If your imp is too far away hold R1 and push up on the right stick to hold the imp in place and zoom to it.
  
  Things get easier once you get used to moving and learn all the button combinations. Just keep practicing. Have you done the movement tutorials?

  Usually when my imp is being a jerk like that, it's because I've left surface snap on. So every time I move it off to the side, it jumps to nearest background object (often miles away).
