Sound when getting damaged

  • mmdev1 - John & Luci

    Hi,

It sounds like the way you've set up the logic is causing this.
Can you describe what you've done so I can help diagnose.

If you cant fix it then consider putting a timer delay before you turn that part of the microchip on, so if the health is zero for a split second it will not register because the sound is not yet activated.

I have a loud explosion that starts at the beginning of my level. I can't figure out why it plays, as it's way into the level and is only activated by a trigger zone. But every time I hit play, BOOM! Wish I could help you out but I have no clue myself.

I think fixed it, realized I had put the cord from the "the lose health - output " into the randomizer input instead of power.

I do think however that the sound is lower no though.. hmm

    Hi Winess!

Just a tip - you can make randomised sounds without using a randomiser. Try opening the sound's Slice Editor (L1 + X) - Slice Editor icon is also the button that looks like 3 faders, on the top of the canvas.

Drop all the alternative sounds into this one canvas, and now when that sound is played it will choose one slice from the list.

This makes it easier to manage volume / effects.

You can also use the slice editor to normalise the slices - ie make them louder, if some are quieter. If you tweak a slice you should expand an editor window within the canvas, and you can drag the top or bottom bars to adjust it's volume.

    Hi Ed,

Thanks so much for the tip! I will for sure check that out.
