Where should I set up the ps camera to use it with the move controllers?

  • OpiKipi

the camera is directly in front of me, but it doesnt seem to work, I did the ps set up where it takes your picture 3 times, but it just doesnt seem to be helping my imps, even if I press start to have them appear, they just dont seem accurate.

I would sit In a comfortable position away from the cameras. when you recenter it also takes into account the the distance you are from the camera because you need it for the z movement in the scene. When you're pulling towards or away. So if you recenter but then move to another spot it it throws the imp off

Is your camera centered and parallel with your monitor? If must be aligned straight with your monitor to work properly.

I found it helpful to pull up the camera preview as a guide for placement. Press the Share button, go to Sharing and Broadcast settings, Advanced Settings, Camera Video Settings. The Wide option seemed to work well for showing the available range of movement for your Moves.

The imps will disappear if the camera can't see the glowing balls on the move, make sure the camera can see them at all times. Camera on top of the TV works best for me personally

    Heya,

I would recommend having the camera set up on top of the TV. It's also important that you are far enough away that both of the move controllers are in the frame - this shouldn't be very far back but you may find moving back helps.

Hi OkiKipi! In general, you want at least 5 feet of distance from you and the camera, especially if you like to make wide movements. When setting up the motion controllers with PSVR, I ended up putting the camera on my wall facing downward using velcro. This helps keep the controllers from overlapping each other (and the headset, which I mention since VR is eventually coming to Dreams).

As Keld mentioned, using the camera preview helps as you can hold the controllers in front of you (and test how wide you plan to move your arms) and then adjust the camera as necessary.
