Lower sculpture detail?

I've almost maxed out the graphics section of the thermometer, and it's telling to lower the quality of my structures using structure detail. However, I'm not sure where this option is in the menus? I've not seen it before, and there doesn't seem to be a blanket "degrade structure quality" tool. What does the game want me to do?

  Hey,
  
  In the Tools menu of the palette, you can find a tool called the Sculpture Detail tool.
  
  When you select that, things in your Scene will change colour based on how detailed they are. Things which are red are adding more to the thermometer; things which are blue are adding less.
  
  If you click R2 over an object which is red, it will get a little less detailed, but also use up less thermometer. Click R2 multiple times to reduce the detail even further.
  
  Often you'll find that you can reduce the thermometer impact of one of your models without making much of a noticeable change to detail! This is a great way to optimise your scene, which makes it quicker to load.
