What on earth is the latest Gamejam "Against the Rules" all about?
It is going to run for A MONTH. And there is absolutely nothing in the gamejam description to explain what they mean by it. And I am a little concerned that some people will take their word for it and create Dreams that are literally "against the rules" and get a PlayStation ban for their trouble.
I dont watch their streams so did they clarify what they are expecting?

This was a suggested jam theme from 800pixelgorilla.
I interpreted it as: games where the player must/can play against the rules or break the rules of the game to progress. For example, there's a sign with an arrow pointing to the right, but the player ignores it and goes left. Or a sign saying "don't press the button" but if the player presses it something good happens. I'm thinking along the lines of The Stanley Parable kind of stuff.
I can see the potential issue... but I guess it's one way of finding all the people who would break the legal rules and get them off the platform! XD

It is going to run for A MONTH
The last one "Let it snow" ran for a month too. Looks like jams running for a month might be for life not just for Christmas.

Wow, so yet another theme based on a MrCaseyJones creation (Opposite Day). Is he responsible for the themes or something? That has got to be the 3rd or 4th gamejam theme that is an obvious rift of a game by him.
So is voting for a month too? -
I like the month long time to complete. Some of us arent so fast, and really have things outside of Dreams to do too. But maybe they could run a new Jam every two weeks so that they could have 2 running at a time with staggered deadlines for those that crave a little more.
As for the theme this month, it has sparked zero ideas for me lol... Look forward to see what others come up with.

As I say, it was suggested by 800PixelGorilla, not MrCaseyJones. They put out a call on Twitter for jam ideas a while back.
Casey's made a lot of crazy nonsense in his games, so it may be the laws of probability that jams would share some sort of connection 😅
