It's in the controller sensor gadget. Click on "Force Possess" additionally if you don't want the player to be able to depossess the puppet, delete the wire from "o" to depossess

I literally only added one keyframe to make a blank puppet wave and tried to use it and it works but it doesn't record the wave I made it do.

All local saves will be deleted along with the app on the day the beta runs out (at least, to my knowledge). As long as you publish it, even if it's private, it will carry over to the full release.
