How can I get the default Puppet camera to follow my puppet down the zipline

  • Mm Bogdan & Matt

Hi, the zipline looks great! well done.

The camera is not following the biped because it thinks the biped is falling to its death. One solution is to increase the distance for "fall death" using the global settings gadget, "Adjust Fall Height". You can do this temporarily by only turning the global gadget on whilst on the zipline.

Another option would be to add an invisible but collidable floor beneath the character whilst they are on the zipline. Again you could power this off when the character let's go of the zipline.

It should actually be possible to disable fall death on the biped but I believe there is a known issue whereby the camera will still fail to follow the character in this case.

    hope that helps,
    Matt

Love that zipline. Look at how they did the new sliding puppet. When they on the zip line you should also disable things like they did - using a key frame - the puppet Procedural animation, procedural walk and jump and also use a rocket rotator just to make sure your puppet faces the direction of the movement. You can also turn off air control. Once you reach “on ground” signal from the puppet you can get out of the zipline mode and turn off all these settings above.
