grid alignment

Beats the heck out of me. Honestly, probably one of the most confusing things in Dreams is that dang Grid. John explained it in a stream last week or week before last, but I swear, it is NOT doing the same thing as he showed. It really does need to be a global grid.

What ever you place first using the grid is your starting point. You can immediate get back onto that grid by holding L1 and pressing triangle on the original sculpt, and of course anything you've also aligned to the original grid.

I'm pretty sure there's a bug in it. If you make a primitive in grid, then clone it, it doesn't always line up in the grid. If you tell it to align with the grid it was made on, the size changes.

Also in grid mode with always face up on, if you clone something and keep hitting R2 over it, it starts to rotate.

There should be a global grid. It bothered me during the beta and now it prevents my progress. Here's my current problem:

I make to different objects, use grid on both of them. Same size, I do not alter anything.

I start a new scene in which I want to use both objects. Instead of aligning the two objects to the scene's grid, each object gets its own grid and they are incompatible, making it literally impossible to place them fittingly next to one another unless I turn grid off completely which then is not precise enough.

Yeah I would love if the grid could be universal and not have different grids pop up for every object. This makes me have to press triangle on both move controllers on another object to "copy" its grid way too many times.

To say that the grid system in this game needs some work is a massive understatement. How is it possible that I can model two things, go to great lengths to make sure each of them are aligned perfectly on a 1:1 grid, bring the first thing in to use as a reference when sculpting the second thing, save the second thing, only to bring them both together in a new dream and have them not align properly?
