How about a Light Sensor, to know if and how much light an element is receiving.

You could use it, for example, to dim the digits on a digital clock, when a light source directly hits it.

Or maybe make the eyes of a demon shine wildly when in the dark.

Or use it with trigger zones and Effects and Camera gadgets, to simulate the rapid change in light when coming out of a tunnel, and simulate brief light blindness.

    That would be cool, although it would require simulating the light across the scene whether you can see it or not because the gadgets need to still work. So it could need some heavy compromising for it to work reliably.

    Oh I see.

    I guess a compromise could be to make it work only inside a certain radius from the camera(or only for a certain set of light sources at a time), like light sources currently work anyway.
    I don't think you really need this hypothetical gadget to process the light in the entire scene at all times, so I guess it would be a reasonable compromise to work with.
