How do I place text?

I know this might sound basic, but I cannot seem to find how to place text! I don't mean the 3D text some people sculpt, I mean normal text, like in LBP.

  There is an option under the display text gadget. That lets you put the text in scene vs having it hovering in front of the camera. It’s pretty straight forward from there.

  Get out display text gadget, place it in the world and then open up its tweak menu. In the tweak menu if you look around near one of the last few tabs of the tweak menu you should see an option to display it in the scene rather than on the screen. Hope this helps
