Set max and min values for inputs?

  • Magus0Mind00

R2 and L2 are unique among the other button outputs - they produce a range. The other buttons output 1 or 0 for on/off - so maybe try hooking your glow to one of those?

Could you clarify what effect you want - is it just turn an object glow on and off? Or to go from off to 64% glow or something like that? Calculators and signal manipulators are good for changing outputs to different values.

You want to change the input type to modulate (the X icon) by pressing L1 & x over the input node.

    Hope that helps :) Peter

Peter, could you explain a bit more about your suggestion? Is this some hidden feature of all input nodes? What does modulate mean in this situation exactly? Thanks.

Regarding OP's question, I don't know if this helps but it was suggested elsewhere that an easy way to remap a value is with a value slider. You set max and min to your desired output range. I guess this assumes you have a normalised input value which I believe it would be in the case of R2.

    Hi,

If you use a signal modifier gadget and set it to custom there is a graph with end points top and bottom on both sides, so you can make an input coming in of 1 to output say 6 or 0.2 or visa versa.
That means you can easily set min and max values

Thank you John & Luci! I will still have to try but that sounds like the solution.

As for the first response. Yes, even if it wasn't R2 which I know has a range a single on off switch would still set it from 0 to 100. At least as far as I saw.

I will have to try the signal manipulator's graph! ;)

So actually I'm not sure I explained my problem that well.

I have a button hooked up to a Y dampener. I can set the max value that it will go to when I push the button, however whenever I'm not sending a signal to the dampener it goes down to zero. I want to set the min value there so it will stay at a certain level when not activated!
