Struggling with default rotations of primitives.

  • mmdev1 - John & Luci

    Hi!

when grid is turned on you can realign the grid to an object by holding L1 and pressing triangle on any object, and the grid will snap to that new angle, which means after that your sculpt primitives should line up with the new grid.
If you'd pressed this button combo my mistake it may look like your grid was broken.
You can realign the grid back to the world by pressing the button combo when not hovering over any object, such as the sky.

Try that and let me know how you get on :)

'@mmdev1 - John & Luci : This was also happening with the grid snap turned off, so any time I'd bring in a sculpt primitive, it would start out with a weird rotation as if I had already rotated it freely. Is there a button to reset it to "flat"?

    Hi,

That seems odd, do you have any other guides on? Such as stay upright?
You can use the touchpad on the ds4 to rotate things. or holding L2 and using the right stick.

let me know how you get on

It only happened during the tutorial, but I'll test it again tonight and see if I can reproduce it so I can get footage.

I'm also running into this issue. I believe the sculpt has internal rotation that it matches against the grid or when you hit realign. The problem is that the sculpt thinks that up is when my sculpt is sideways. I want to be able to rotate my sculpt how it should be when realigned and then save it so that when you hot realign it goes back to that rotation.
