Can't seem to make a scene entrance point with a doorway work.

I place a doorway in a scene and make it an entrance.

I place a puppet into the scene away from the doorway, and name the controller sensor "player" as in more than one tutorial or post that I have seen.

I test it, and the puppet still ends up where I originally placed it instead of where the doorway is. I tested the scene in a dream with the same result.

I must be missing something. Does the dream need to be published?

  A doorway will only ever do anything when you come in *through* that doorway. So if you just play the scene, it won't affect anything. Make sure you're coming in through that doorway I guess?
  
  The thing about naming the controller sensor also only works when you come from one scene possessing a controller sensor with a name, and then go to a new scene with a controller sensor with the same name.
  
  The dream doesn't need to be published.
