Custom camera

I'm trying to make a custom camera for my vehicle because the standard controller sensor camera doesn't follow properly. I have so far made it rotate around the x-axis and y-axis, while the y-axis set to local and is locked at top and bottom so you can't spin upside down. At first glance it works but when spinning the camera longer it gets slightly shifted on the z-axis so you have a crooked view. I'm pretty sure I placed the microchip dead center with grid. Any way to fix this?

  I’ve had luck with the gyroscope. Seems to sort out those getting off axis problems. You could also use an angle sensor and a key frame to set the camera back where you want if it gets outside of the angle limit.
