What’s the approved method of wiring up a Rumbler?
My first attempt resulted in such brief rumbles that I couldn’t feel them.
So I tried driving the Rumbler through a Timer, hoping for a duration of 0.7 to 0.9 seconds
This worked, but with a side effect that the Rumbler started rumbling continuously as soon as the level was started, vibrating for about 5 second periods with approximately 3 second “rest” periods. Oddly, the Rumbler icon was not showing as “active”. This made me think that there might be another Rumbler somewhere, however when I disconnect the Rumbler all rumbling ceases.
Clearly, my approach to wiring has issues, so I’m looking for the office method, please!

Hello!
I had the same issue when building my scene "Deathtrap Cavern". For some reason, the rumbler gadget just wants to keep rumbling.
What I did was connect a power line to a Destroyer gadget from a timer finished output on a timer. Then tweak the destroyer (L1 + square) and make a wire from affected object to the rumbler. This will destroy the rumbler after the timer finishes.
If you're using a trigger zone to activate the rumble timer, you could use the same trigger zone to activate the timer for the destroyer and have them run simultaneously.
Or, what I've also done in some cases is start a short timer that activates another timer, which activates the destroyer. This way you can layer different effects happening a few seconds apart, like sound effects and in my case rocks moving and such.
Hope this helps. Have fun! -
Hi
One thing is due to various technical reasons Dreams is not allowed to make the pad continuously rumble, that's why there are pauses even if you have logic asking it to rumble all the time.
As for the logic itself the rumbler will rumble whenever it is getting a signal.
So if you want something to feel like an impact/explosion what I tend to do is use a signal manipulator gadget
And tweak that manipulator to have the option 'pulse when on' and set the smoothing out to be about half a second.
Then wire that into the rumbler and my logic that triggers it into the manipulator
Hope that helps

Thank you @Bella_Iris and John! I’ll try your tricks.

OK, it was "User Error"
Here's the explanation of why the Rumbler activated as soon as the "play" was started

I used your tumbler setup on my level @Bella_Iris and it works great!
