Tip: Alternate PC audio import
With the official audio import currently disabled I thought I'd post about an alternate method, using PC remote play.
If you turn on the mic in the PS4 remote play app and enable the Stereo Mix recording device in Windows (or use a virtual audio cable app) you can then record audio directly w/o using a hardware mic or loopback cable - play an instrument audio file, free music, etc.
The sound quality seems fairly good.
Hopefully the official audio import is back soon.

By the way, remote play works ok with the DS4 (no Move support) though motion controls are lower resolution / blocky movement so not ideal for sculpting but everything else works reasonably well, if a little finicky for selection at times.
I alternate between the games room and PC in study depending on family movements! -
smart! yes the ingame audio recording is the same quality as web, there are several ways to get high quality audio into the ps4
the audio web import will be back when we have some more time to refine it
as noted elswhere, everyone reading this, please remember that when using dreams you are bound by the playstation terms of service, which, amongst other things, prohibits uploading material to which you dont own the copyright. please, consider this carefully when uploading content or recording audio by any method. thanks. -
I would have thought the copyright issue goes without saying but some people...
There's a metric ton of great original music that can be used. Some artists just want their name attributed in the game credits, some you only pay a few $ for and some completely yours to use as you like. Support independent art!
As for instruments and sounds there are tens of thousands that can be used. I have a sub to Computer Music Magazine and they give away hundreds every month in different styles. -
OMG GENIUS!
Thank you!!! -
Wow, amazing idea!

Finally made this work. Thank you, although I will only use this if the upload feature never comes back. But at least I know all the audio files I made wont go to waste.

You are a life saver, being that I am a musician, and want to do all original music and sound effects!

Running into the issue that the recording seems to be messed up when does in this manner.
Even by keeping recordings under 3 minutes, the waveform does not match the audio and it seems to be playing back slower than it actually is.
This means songs end up longer, and recordings end up cut off at the end.
Hope we get the audio import back soon. I'm trying to make music videos for a local band I've known for years. They really dig Dreams, and it would be cool to move forward with this!
