Is there any way to line an emitter up with the grid?

I need to line an emitter up in the same direction as a camera, and i have them in the same microchip so they'll be able to turn at the same time. My problem is the emitter doesn't center on one of the dots like the camera and even when I rotate it to sort of be in the same spot as the camera the line showing the direction emitted snaps to what seems to be random directions off the grid. I doubt i'll be able to line it up without a grid, so is there any way to align the emitter up with the grid?

  Hi,
  
  Try pressing triangle when aligning your object and while grid is on.
  That should realign to the current grid
