Make the Tutorial imp quests optional
A newbie complained to me recently that they couldnt make anything because they still hadnt finished the imp quests. Forcing people to do onerous tutorials before they can play or create in a game all about play and create is crazy. Project Spark were forced to remove their enforced tutorials due to public demand, but I guess Mm did not follow the fortunes of that game or ask its fans what went wrong there so they wouldnt make the same mistake. The tutorials should be skippable, or optional, or sought out by the player, not forced on them so that they give up in frustration before they've even started.

Agreed!
I think the tutorials need to be reworked - as they stand they spend a loooooooooong time explaining extremely basic features, but unfortunately glance over the more complex features of creation. I think LadyLex nailed the balance between accessibility and depth in her YouTube series.
If Mm were smart, they'd pay creators like LadyLex, Sakku's mind and TAPgiles to use their materials in the tutorial/training menus...

I understand people's frustration.
It's been a while, but from what I remember you're only required to go through the basic free-roam camera controls, before getting to play stuff. I think this is because if a game/creation lets you use the free-roam camera you'll be super lost and frustrated trying to get around, unless you've been taught how to use it.
Then to unlock create mode, you need to learn the basic creation stuff in the homespace so that you're not lost when you get to create mode.
Does it work like that? Maybe not. If not, it probably should I guess?

No, it is a lot more than that - You need to do tutorials before you can even view other peoples stuff, and thats after you've gone through the mini game of the intro. I wanted to use Dreams on my husbands PS4 and I had to go through soooo many tutorials before I could see the Dream Surfing feeds, and then another load to access the Dream shaping feed. What I thought would take me 10 minutes to check something took half an hour or more.

I 100% agree with this. I have seen a number of new players boot up Dreams for the first time on Stream wanting to jump right into playing some random games. The friction of the required tutorials was enough to make them turn off the game and switch to something else. I think the assumption should be that the vast majority of user want to play first, and a small minority want to learn the tools and create. There should be as little friction between booting the game and browsing as possible.
