Tags?? No idea how they work.
So I have a tag on my characters microchip called key1 and i have a keyframe that turns the power for the key1 tag on. I have a trigger zone searching for key1 attached to a timeline. When the character goes into the zone with key1 active the timeline does not activate. How would I get the tag on my character to activate the trigger zone. This is for looting a key and then using it. Tried to follow another person's same question but the reply got too complicated. Please and thank you!!

Is your Trigger Zone set to detect Tags? On the first page of the tweak menu, there's an option for Things to Detect, and that needs to be set to Tag in order to work in the setup you've described.

And you need to make sure to use the name of the tag in the tag the trigger zone looks for, also.

Yes i renamed the tag key1 and the trigger zone is set to search everywhere for key1 tag. I also tried to detect (here) and it made no difference. Tried lots of things. Finally got something to work by running a wire from the and gate of picking up the object and destroying it to a counter running to the keyframe for the door. Does not work very well and for some reason now I cant replicate it. I cant get the powering on of an object to come on when entering a trigger zone. I have a trigger zone and the square button ran to an and gate which then runs to a keyframe with keep changes activated to power on the object. But the object will not appear. Frustrating! Please help!

Check the count slider. If you accidentally set it to "All" it will mean every tag with that name in your level has to be inside the zone for it to trigger. You probably want to set this to 1, most of the time, but sliding the slider all the way to the left sets it to "All."
