Blending clones?
I'm just fooling around now that I've completed all the tutorials, and I'm trying to make an island scene with moving waves. What I'd like to do is clone the first row of waves I have, color that a different color, then blend it with the original. I want to have a gradient of colors, basically, so I can get the appearance of sea foam and whatnot. I've cloned the waves, re-colored it, and messed around with looseness and stuff to make it appear more foam-like, but all I can do is place it on top of the original — I can't blend it with the original layer. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I might be missing something, or I might just not have considered workaround solutions. I'm still wrapping my head around everything, so help would be appreciated! :D

You're trying to get something like the Soft Blend in sculpt mode, right? Unfortunately you have to put everything in the same sculpture to do that, so you'll just have to stamp more shapes in sculpt mode.

To get a gradient effect - use the colour tumbler (or create your own by pressing down on the touch pad). Then you could clone your wave shapes in your sculpt and the colour will tumble as you go!

Thank you both so much!

If you want to just blend the colour from the blue of the water into the white of the foam, you could simply add colour to the blue sculpt near the foam. Whammy up the soft-blend so that it smoothly transitions into the new colour at the spots you stamp into the sculpt.
