How do you make the shape rotate automatically when you smear it with Dualshock 4?

I remember seeing a livestream with Kareem where he flicked the shape so it was rotating automaticaly while he was smearing it.

How do you do this with the Dualshock 4?

  Hi,
  If you have your shape on the imp during sculpting and flick across the touchpad it will start to spin.
  Then smear away
