How do I fit a Ball Joint correctly??
Could I get a better explanation on how a Ball Joint works, it briefly explains on the tool description, but it doesn’t go into detail on how to actually place it on object
What I’m trying to do is make a leg movement for a creature like a spider and I want to connect a ball joint from the parent leg limb to the child leg limb that makes contact with the surface it would be walking on.
I’m not sure exactly how this works and when I place the ball joint it attaches to the wrong thing like the ground itself and I have to adjust it accordingly but I’m always accidentally selecting the object instead of the ball joint as well which makes it difficult to get the placement right.
Also is there a way to select it without the object interference much like the grayed out option for sculpting or an X-ray to see through to make things easier or can this be added for future reference.

Hi,
Super easy this,
Select the ball joint from the menu.
Then click anywhere on what you want to be the parent (usually the bigger object or limb closer to the body)
Then click anywhere on the child
That creates the joint and you should see the middle pivot (the pivot is the bit we care about)
If you can't see it go to the show/hide options and turn on X ray mode)
Now all you need to do is grab that pivot and put it where you want the bend to happen, on the elbow for example
Hope this helps
