Is it possible to make gadgets visible in play mode?

  • Mm Dev- Ed / Martin

You can't have the gadgets visible in play, but what you can do is try to re-visualise on top using visual elements. In this case, maybe using a paint stroke in ruler mode (for straight lines) between your two objects will do the trick? You can make it physical and attached at both ends.

    Hello!
You can't make gadgets visible in play mode, but you could draw a string in paint mode to act as the 'visible' string in play mode.
    - go to paint mode
    - open the tools
    - select the ruler icon (rule fleck)
    - this lets you draw a straight line, start from the static object and draw the moving object so it overlaps your string gizmo
    - exit paint mode and tweak the paint stroke (l1+square)
    - go to the physical properties page, turn on Physical and attach at both ends
    - select attach end to object with X, then move your imp over to the moveable part of pendulum
    - you will see a dotted line, press X over the moveable object
    - turn the floppiness down to 0

Now if you go into play mode, the paint stroke will act like your string gadget!

While in Edit Mode, when you press R3 you go into this semi-play mode, everything will start playing and you can see all the logic too. The only thing you can't do this way is possess something with your Imp.

There is a helpful tool I found.
You know where the tool bag is? The place to go when you want to make a new model or drawing or change flecks and effects? Well, all the way to the right is a green controller.
This will allow you to enter play mode and see everything you can see while creating.
