Making a Dream for VR and Non VR Players
I would like to make a dream that has a puppet to walk around in 3rd person mode and I can designate them certain actions and animations. However, when someone who is playing VR plays my dream, I would like them to be in first person and have hand controls and I would configure those separately.
Is this possible or do I have to create a remix of my world.. one for VR and one non VR. The problem with this concept is, the world is still a work in progress, so when I’m adding more locations and logic, I would have to update the other too, or waiting until it’s done to do a remix and then build the VR... the only thing is, I want to build the world with VR in mind, not an afterthought.
No mans sky is how I imagine the button scheme. Non VR click buttons and analog sticks. VR now uses the shifters by controlling their hands when flying and pulling their tool off of their back instead of pressing square.
Thank you Dream community!

You can detect if the player is using VR and have it all be in one scene, instead. Stamp down a head tracker gadget, and in the tweak menu's last tab there's an "Is in VR?" output.

'@TAPgiles. I suppose I could also use the gadget tweak “Is In VR?”on the hands as well, yes?
Then, I have the challenge of hiding the puppet I created for the non-VR player. When the VR player is playing, I don’t want them seeing a character model just standing there for my 3rd person players.
Thanks for the info on the tweak! -
You only need to get that "Is In VR?" once, from the head tracker. It's not on the hands. It is also in the global settings gadget apparently.
