How to you make something a precise distance (as in, 22 yards, or 20.12 meters, or whatever)?
I want to recreate something from real life. That thing has components that need to be the correct ratios to each other to work. My process in the beta was to sort of eyeball it, with a puppet as a guide.
However, I want to start from scratch with a few learnings and would like to take the opportunity to make sure everything is the right size.
Are there any tools to make something a precise length & width?

The Ruler tool can give you exact distances in meters.
You can find it in Gadgets > Lights & Cameras > Ruler. -
'@Regal-Ragamuffin thanks heaps

I am facing this problem as well. I am trying to build something based on a blueprint, so I am drawing the blueprint elevation view as a background so that I can put a sculpt based on it's grid position. The problem I face is a scale issue and resultant grid issue.
Mm has stated that the grid set at 1 means that the distance between each of the dots is 0.25m or about 9.8inches. why?
Can you please make it so that the grid can be set to a unit of measurement so that we can define the distance between the points ourselves, so instead of an imprecise 1/2 to 1/2 to 1/2, we can actually make increments that can be calculated and made uniform? I am trying to make something to scale and it's impossible when the grid system appears to be schizophrenic.
Mm - Please make the grid system either metric or imperial and selectable as specifically that.
For metric, the grid has to be divisible by 10, not 2.
For imperial, the grid can be divisible by two, but you need to define how long an inch is in the grid.
thanks and best regards,
