How do I: Make key framed objects have physics?
I have seen in the made by the molecules video that SteveBigGuns made a platform of puzzle pieces that fall when hit.
He showed that he used keyframes to do it.
But when I try that; the keyframes tell my objects to stay put even when powered of.
And I did turn on is movable.
So how do I do that?
-
Place down the object and then a keyframe, when the record button pops up move the object to where it will be when powered off, make sure you hit the stop recording button to save the move, then when the keyframe is powered on it will move to the location you set, adjust the slider value to set how long it takes to move to the new location
You can also set the scale, colour, fleck type etc of the object with the new location, look at the stream last night as John did a fantastic job of showing off how to use keyframe to animate a fork -
Thanks for the reply.
But that was not what I was asking.
I know how to use keyframes.
But I couldn't make them fall down with physics after they where turned off.
Instead the snapped to where they where before I moved them with a key frame. -
Hi,
If you want the physics to turn off after you move them with a keyframe you first need to make the keyframe that moved it "keep changes" in its tweak, then at the point of turning off that keyframe turn on another with sets the object to be moveable.
Hope that helps

Yes making it permanent worked.
And I didn't even needed 2 key frames.
I did however, because I needed them to not be movable when they key frame was holding it up.
But thanks.
