Add crescendo to a note in piano roll

I guess I have to use an effect field somehow, and adjust the ADSR curve, or is there a simpler way? There was a similar question about effects and it was suggested to use key frames, but I have no idea how to do that in a music timeline.

  You can add an effect that modifies volume only then use the handles in the top left/right to fade that effect in. Just drag the effect right into the timeline. The basic 'effect field' one should do it. Of course you can modify individual note velocity with d-pad in the piano roll.

  Thank you, I didn't notice those handles before. It would be nice to also have the different blend curves like for key frames, but they don't seem to be available here.

  In case anyone ever looks here: I found the (obvious) solution for only applying an effect field to certain instruments in the timeline: just put a timeline within the timeline. That way you can easily group instruments with effect fields that only apply to them.
