How can I tell when a dreams saves my play progress?

I'm trying to find out when I've hit a checkpoint so I can leave and come back to it later

  Up to the creator how and when they save stuff. Normally if they're saving anything persistently, it'll be saved all the time. If they're just using checkpoint gadgets to respawn you at places when you die though, those don't automatically save for when you come back to the game unless the creator has added logic to do that.

  What *is* automatically saved is, the last scene you were in. So if it loads a new scene/level, it's probably saved that as the last place you've been. So if you leave the dream and come back, and don't click "reset dream," you'll carry on playing from that scene instead of the beginning.
