Try to undo the tint and then go into spray paint mode and grab a large shape to color all in white, then you can proceed with the dots

you could try painting them on with the spraypaint tool in sculpt mode, then nothing will stick out

there's and option called auto update. Unfortunately you'll still have to go into the dream, edit and save changes, so not really automatic
