Turn off and change the reflection of light from the lamp.
I suggest that not only from the lamp, but also from the sun, it is possible to turn off these circles.
For example, often a person uses a lamp to create an artificial rebound of light from the sun or something else and these circles interfere.
But of course it would be great not only to be able to turn them off, but also to change their brightness separately from the lamp.

Ah, what you're seeing is the finish of the sculpt reflecting the light, I think. If you adjust the... shinyness I think it is? Make it more rough, and it won't show those reflections of light gadgets. Hope this helps.

Why do you think I'm an idiot who just doesn't know something ???
Why don't you think that a person may not like this shine on glass, or tile tiles, on metal parts, on wet materials, waterfalls or just water, a person must sacrifice the realism of materials in order to remove reflecting the light ??? -
Pretty sure that Dreams calculates the surface "texture" entirely based upon the light sources in the scene. So if you remove the ability for the light to hit the surface then how will dream know how to shade it?
Some kind of "fake" light mode?
Out of interest, have you tried tweaks to your light? So for example decreasing the intensity and increasing the falloff to smooth it out?

Really ??? ))) ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓
This circle is just an illusion of light reflection.
The circle does not affect the light from the searchlight itself. The light from the spotlight, and this circle - exist separately from each other.
-
Yes indeed but what I means is that how else is something going to look like it is reflective without the light bouncing off? If you removed the reflection (illusion or real… doesn’t matter) then you would just have a flat surface.
It’s like saying I want a red cube but can we have a way to turn red off. Unless I am missing something? Have you got an example of what you mean?

Do you seriously think that in dreams a wet surface looks wet only due to such circles ??????????????
OH MY GOD. Why do I need to explain everything. Do you have any experience using dreams at all ???
I have been using dreams since early access. Here is one of my works ↓↓↓
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOa2ja4UvpI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9CoXUOSPVwAnd I know what is needed, and it can be useful to the creators.
I know based on my extensive experience.
And I don't like having a dialogue with people who doesn't even know
that the cubemap is primarily responsible for wet surfaces in dreams. -

"then you would just have a flat surface."
without the circles = flat surface ??? ↓↓↓
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABhIIlXuiTgAnd I understand that you complained about my answer to you in which I wrote about the cubemap ???
If so, just don't write to me anymore. Believe me, I will be only glad of this. -

The reason for my aggressive behavior is that I didn't come here to teach anyone how something works in dreams.I came here to write a wish to add the ability to disable these the circles. And there are many reasons.
1 in dreams, lamps are used not only as lamps, but also as a fake bounce of light from the sun. I hope you understand what this is, for example: when the sunlight falls on the red ball, the red light is reflected from red ball to the ground. The same applies not only to the sun but also to night lights, or neon signs, when a person wants a neon sign to light up, he will not need this circle.
2 if a person uses a tube lamp, he will not need this circle.
3 lamps allow you to turn on fake shadows, which can be used to create textures on the surface. And thanks to these shadows, you can create caustics. And to create caustics, you need a lot of lamps, and people in these cases do not need these circles reflecting from all surfaces.
4 to make a realistic lighter, or a torch, so that there are shadows from its light, you need a lot of lamps placed in a circle from the center of the glow, and these circles will again interfere.
The last example ↓↓↓
a spotlight is used to create a reflection of light from the scene.
And these are not all examples of cases when these circles will interfere with the achievement of the goal. -
Fair enough. Wasn’t trying to refute your suggestion. I don’t remember complaining? Where?
I understand lighting in Dreams, to some level. Don’t worry you don’t have to teach anyone. I was trying to suggest a tweak combination you may have not considered. That’s all.
As far as asking to “turn the circles off”.. and in the spirit of friendly discussion, I was just wondering how that would work in the current setup, should it be added to dreams. Because the lighting and reflectivity seem tied.
If it is as simple for Dreams Engine as “turn off circle”.. then yeah sounds like a good idea. My suspicion is that the reason it’s not currently available is because it’s not as simple as that??

"not currently available is because it’s not as simple as that??"
The reason is that Mm just don't think that someone needs it. Dreams didn't even have font type numbering before.
