How do I Color my puppet?

I'm in the puppet tutorials and I'm specifically in the tinting tutorial.

I choose a color but I can only tint the upper chest.

If I try to tint any other body part, nothing happens. I just get a clicking, not spraying sound.

What am I doing wrong?

  Have you maybe selected the upper chest with X?
  
  As if you have objects in a scene selected while using the tint tool it will only tint what is selected, not whatever you hover over :)

  In addition to what Catherine said, it's possible you're scoped in to the chest piece only.
  
  Try using L1+Circle to scope out and try to determine how far into the puppet you are scoped.
