Level up in Dreams through Forum Activity.
Hey so I'd love to see this place a bit more active and am always an advocate for getting people away from toxic social media websites as much as possible. One potential method to lure Dreamers here is perhaps being able to level up in Dreams through forum activity? What do you think?

Oh please no... The existing "interact with the community to get bonusses" stuff that is in Dreams has encouraged a swath of abberant behaviour, resulting in heavy restrictions on what people are allowed to do even if they aren't doing those abberant things. For example "leave 25 comments to get this imp" has resulted in a ton of non-comments with just a character or word with no real interaction at all... and now we have a cooldown after you make any comment. ;/
I don't think you can successfully gamify constructive social interactions. You can't gamify altruism, or wanting to help people.

I think it's possible if the exp gained is a small amount (just enough to get people to have discussions over here where people can express themselves in long form posts rather than twitter) and the forum is properly moderated. The example you cited is a good example of how such attempts at gamification can go wrong though, so such mechanisms should be implemented with care! It's still baffling to me how anyone could add such an imp quest into Dreams without realising it would just create a ton of spam 😅

I believe the next Dreams update is adding a link to the forums. There was also an issue with users not getting forum reply notifications, which I believe was fixed, and should also help.
