How do I paint a sculpt... Outside of the art tute?
I tried searching and saw similar issues but found no answers.
I've done art tute 2 and found the spraypaint tool easy to use. Then I created a new scene, sculpted a shape and tried to paint it but the spraypaint doesn't apply colour, nor does the shape I select preview the colour on the object, nor does subtracting with a different colour leave a new colour 'inside'!
I thought I must have forgotten a step so I went back into the art tute 2 to see how that went again and it works great in there. Then I come back to my scene and I'm having the same problems.
I tried a few things and I think you can experience the issue by scoping out of all objects and deselecting everything. Go into sculpt mode but before adding any smear shape, select the Spraypaint tool and try painting "nothing". This is what I'm experiencing even if I sculpt a shape, and then do those same steps on the object. The strange thing is I can carve out a shape but if I select a new colour it still only carves it out in the default colour... This doesn't happen when I try the same thing in art tute 2.
It's as though I scope into my object but it doesn't think anything is inside?
One last thing I thought to try was to change the type of scene I created. So initially I created a Game Scene and started having these problems and then thought maybe I need to have created a Sculpture scene instead. I tried that but get the same issues.
Side question: Does the type of scene dictate the options in the Mode Menu? Or do they may begin a scene with different starting points? Eg. Game scene starts with a cube and a sculpt starts with the sculpt took selected, but other than that they're the same thing?
Cheers for any help in advance! :)

After messing around with other things for a while I noticed I could paint other objects. But whenever I go back to that first object it still doesn't let me paint it. It's a pretty simple cluster of cylinders so not sure what the deal is. Seems like either a bug or I managed to do something to it that means it doesn't like to be painted?

Are they a sulpt or a group? You can't paint groups, uou have to paint at sculpt level

I thought it was a sculpt but it could be a group. I'll double check. If it was a group I should be able to scope in and eventually start painting right? I'll get back to you :)
