Remove sun & sky "smoothing"?
If you power on the sun & sky gadget it takes a while for the sky to fully become the new colour. Sometimes that isn't desired.
Can you make this change instant?

This even affects sun/sky gadgets that are powered on inherently, like at the start of the scene.
I wanted to use the Sun and Sky gadget to start with everything 100% dark, for a dramatic sunrise. But when you play the scene, it starts at some medium level of sun/sky brightness, and quickly, but noticeably, fades to dark.
Using a Wiper set to dissolve is an OK workaround, but it's not great overall, because it only works well for solid colors (darkness being conveniently black-colored). What if you want the sun to start red? The scene will start at the baseline sun color and quickly fade to red. -
I'm wondering if this is inherent in the lighting engine. I notice that when you disable glow on an object, it takes a while for the light to fade. Maybe these types of lighting are designed to be processed at a lower priority, so they have a fade built in to spread the lighting changes out and make them cheaper per frame.

Having glow effect on make transitions instant, but yes I agree with you.
