How to I "flatten" the bottom of my build.
There has to be something simple I'm missing here. So I'll go through my steps.
I turned on the grid. That gives me endless problems, but that's another thread.
I make a sculpture that is basically a long stack of cubes to make a long rectangle so I can build my obects.
Now, back in the build mode (whatever it's called, lol), I use that shape to make a door, doorframe and some fancy details then save them as a group.
But the bottoms of everything is uneven and needs to be trimmed flat.
So I get the shape tool, make a big square, switch to the "erase" mode (again, whatever it's actually called, lol) and try to use it to cut everything flat.
Nothing happens. It's like the tool isn't even there. I've gone through every setting I can think of/find. Nothing
What am I missing here? I did this constantly on LBP. The best I've been able to find is chopping each of the 50+ pieces separately, but they still won't be flat to each other since the grid seems to interact with each piece different.
I'm obviously missing a tool that I don't know about. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I think to erase part of a sculpture, you need to be scoped in (L1 + x) to actually affect it
