I don't think you can do that. Either they're both connected or not.Some TVs have a headphones out port, which you can use instead maybe?

Another way to do this is to set the glow at the minimum value, and record the max value into a keyframe. Then power the keyframe directly with R2.

You most likely already have a connector from the chest to the neck. A blue connector means it won't necessarily work correctly because there's another connector already there, generally.
