Pretty sure trigger zone is your best friend here and wire it up to your power on off or play for your dialog. One pf them should work for you.Text box should only apear when inside the zone then.

Id use a force applier and have it activate on button press tied in to your attack animation. Or maybe just keyframe your puppet position at whatever distance you want it to travel and play around ...

Not got access to my ps4 at the minute but but in the either the puppet or controller sensor tweak menu isnt there also an option to look at tag? Ill have to check when i get chance

You need a tag and a look at rotator have it set to look at tag and powered on with whatever button you want to lock on with.That should get you what you want :)
