How do I detect the number of emitted objects in a trigger zone

  • Pookachoo

I did a little experimentation and found a couple bugs/inconsistencies with detecting Elements which I’ve posted in a new topic: https://feedback.indreams.me/forums/917431-dreams-bugs/suggestions/39496150-couple-issues-with-trigger-zone-set-to-detect-elem

For your situation I would stick a tag on your object and set the trigger zone to detect that instead of the Element itself :)
It appears to me that inputting the name of the Element simply doesn’t work, the wired input in needed. And since that only affects the individual element that’s been wired it can’t work for emitted objects.

Detecting emitted tags should work, if that helps. You can then make the required count large, and use the trigger zone's "count" output.

If you don’t want to add a tag to the object, I have another possible solution with a few requirements :)
1 - object must include at least one sculpt that’s both visible and collidable
2 - object must be saved online as its own element
3 - if both those apply, use the Dreamiverse Element option and that does work with an emitter. Note that you have to chose the Element from the big circular field part way down the trigger zone menu, NOT the name to detect field :)

Yes, it appears that the emitter is not the best gadget with a few major issues. Really, it should be able to detect an emitted object that is not a saved element - but good to know it works with those.

    Solution: Toggle on emit wires.
