Glass?
I can't remember which stream it was, but I remember Mm John Beech (?) was in a stream one day and he was making glass for a building. I can't quite remember how he did that, but I find myself wanting to make glass a lot recently, and was wondering how exactly I go about that?

Unfortunately you can't make transparent sculpts, but you can make transparent paintings.
What you can do is make a rectangular sculpt to use as a surface to paint on, then paint on it using surface snap. Once you're done, delete the rectangle and just keep the painting, and tweak it's opacity, shine and other settings to achieve something similar to glass. -
So there is no way to change the opacity of a sculpt at all? I wonder why that is.

Since glass is clear you can always create the streaks using the paint mode. Since thar has properties for opacity.

In the stream you're referring to, he turned the waxiness all the way up. That gives a sculpt a semi-transparent quality while remaining opaque. You can't actually see through it, but It allows lights to pass through. For transparent windows, you have to use strokes.

Someone made a Playstation Home dream. I would check out the glass on that - i believe they used translucent paint strokes for those.

Transparent paint strokes with shiny metal finish —> Instant perfect glass.

Another technique is a transparent text box with no text.
